Update: Reopening after Covid-19

As I write this, its approximately two and a half weeks before phase 3 of reopening business. This is the category salons fall into but as a mobile business, I am expecting things to be different. I am reluctant to speculate on what the guidelines could be but I have to be realistic and look at the practicalities. It is quite unlikely I will be able to return to working how I did before. With every best intention, as a mobile therapist I am unable to control the environment I am working in and as much as I can sterilise and disinfect my tools and have PPE, things such as my clothes will be much harder control. There is also the chance that we still may not be allowed into each other homes. If social distancing still applies, it is not sensible for me for me visit various houses throughout the day.

I have some vulnerable clients, as well as my husband shielding with having a suppressed immune system. There is no doubt health of us all must be a priority.

As you may know, just prior to lockdown I had completed my home salon. It has been sat unused for the past few months and it needs some lovely clients! I think as we move towards reopening, the majority of my appointments will be at my home salon. It will be easier to control my working environment and keep things as sterile and hygienic as they will need to be. Mobile appointments will be available if needed, but these will be at specific times and may be several weeks after opening the home salon.

More details will follow as I get official guidance but pleased be assured I will work hard to ensure to maintain a high standard of hygiene and keep us all safe.
