What is reflexology?

What is reflexology?

Reflexology is a complimentary therapy based on the principal that specific acupressure points on the feet, relate to the whole body. It is non-invasive and can be done on your hands, face but it is most common on your feet.

Reflexologist can pick up on energy blockages within your body and help to clear them, restoring balance within the whole body naturally.

Reflexology cannot diagnose or cure medical problems, but it can help with stress, anxiety and poor sleep.

What happens during a reflexology treatment?

Prior to a treatment you will be sent an electronic consultation form to complete. This ensures the treatment is suitable for you and make me aware of any adaptations I may need to make.

The treatment takes place on the bed, you will be asked to move your socks and shoes, and lie down on the bed. The treatment lasts around 45-60 minutes, so make sure you are comfortable before we start. Lie back, relax and enjoy the treatment.

After your treatment

Following your treatment, it is advised to drink plenty of water and no caffeine or alcohol. Have a light, plain meal – this is to allow your body to put its energy into healing.

Take it easy and rest. You may experience heightened emotions following your treatment, as well as a blocked or runny nose, needing the toilet more frequently, headaches or feverish.

All of these are completely normal and just part of the healing process. If you have any concerns at all following your treatment, please get in touch.
